SOUNDING THE ALARM AND SAVING LIVES

FirstCall Claims is excited to join the American Red Cross’ SOUND THE ALARM SAVE A LIFE program this year.

On September 23, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., our team will join hundreds of other volunteers to install 1,000 fire alarms in the homes of Nashville residents. This is a huge goal, the biggest ever in Nashville Red Cross history.

The most recent stats show us that, on average, seven people are killed in house fires every day. Something as simple as a working fire alarm can make a tremendous difference. The need is great, the effect is incredible and the day will be fun. Training will be offered before and on the day of the event. Teams of 2 or 3 people will go to assigned homes where the residents have requested a fire alarm and provide the installation.

“This is a great opportunity for companies and organizations that are looking for a way to volunteer in the community,” said Shannon Rizzo, FirstCall Claims Chief Relationship Strategist. “Working with the Red Cross, we will train the teams and coordinate the installations. We are also looking for donations from anyone who wants to help purchase alarms for this project.” Shannon is the Chair of the Nashville event this year.

The Red Cross is also looking for assistance with fundraising for the project and you can donate as an individual or through your company. As little as $15 can save a life.

FirstCall Claims is honored to participate in this program as a part of its ongoing commitment to improving the communities in which we live and work. We are passionate about our work and are dedicated to helping every home- and business owner after they experience a catastrophic property loss. It’s also important to us to keep those tragedies from happening when and where we can. The SOUND THE ALARM SAVE A LIFE program allows us to do just that.
